Aave Surpasses $1 Trillion in DeFi Lending
Aave, the decentralized finance lending platform launched by Stani Kulechov in 2020, has crossed $1 trillion in cumulative loans across multiple blockchains—doubling its $500 billion milestone achieved just months ago. The protocol now dominates DeFi with $27.4 billion in total value locked and $83 million in recent fees.
Its institutional-focused Horizon platform is gaining traction by accepting tokenized real-world assets, including U.S. Treasurys, as collateral. Active loans currently total $17 billion, underscoring Aave's expanding role in reshaping global credit markets through blockchain technology.
